Concert master of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Jonathon Crow comes from Prince George, BC., graduated from McGill at age 19 and went on to become the youngest concert master of a major North American Orchestra - the OSM (Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal) under Charles Dutoit and he is also a founding member of the esteemed New Orford String Quartet. In 2011 he became concert master of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
A native of Hong Kong, Philip Chiu grew up in Toronto and London, Ont., and has resided in Montreal for nine years. He has studied at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto and the Université de Montréal. In 2015 he was the inaugural (and very surprised!) winner of the “Prix Goyer”. The award cited his extensive work with violinists Jonathan Crow and James Ehnes.
The Crow-Chiui Duo is enjoying a growing reputation and is much sought after for their spirited performances.
